The Walking Dead Spinoff Spoilers

walking dead leaked script

Robert Kirkman has managed to keep most of the secrets surrounding the upcoming Walking Dead spinoff series under wraps. Until now. Bleeding Cool got their hands on a copy of the pilot script, dated September 2014. While the information comes from a leaked script, attorneys for the show did contact Bleeding Cool to ask them to remove direct quotes from the script, lending to the authenticity of the document.

First up, we have a title (or working title, or possibly episode title): Fear the Walking Dead. As we had heard before, it's now confirmed that this project is definitely a prequel to the universe we know and love on the flagship series. It’s also set in Los Angeles, which had previously been confirmed.

So, how much of a prequel? Judging by the setup and actions in the pilot, it sounds like the show will explore the immediate days following the outbreak and how the world reacted when the undead starting jumping up and eating the living. Apparently, the rumors of zombies start out almost like an urban legend, as the world doesn’t believe it's true — and even the CDC is denying the reports.

The pilot follows the characters we’ve heard about previously, led by star Cliff Curtis as a divorced teacher, along with a guidance counselor (Kim Dickens). The rest of the cast is young, and mostly the teenage children of the teacher and counselor. The pilot also includes a whole lot more family drama than you’ve seen in the main series, as the group is distracted by problems like drugs and infighting before they realize walkers are the real threat.
