13 Movies To Watch Instead of The Oscars

Award shows are not important and the only people who truly care about awards are the people receiving them. If I asked you who won the Best Actor award in 1982 could you answer it without using Google? Probably not ( but I'm sure there is some shithead out there who keeps track of that stuff). So rather than waste the small amount of time you have left on this planet watching a self congratulatory award show, spend it watching one (or all) of these 13 awesome movies.... It will be time slightly better spent.

13. Mad Max: Fury Road - Years after the collapse of civilization, the tyrannical Immortan Joe enslaves apocalypse survivors inside the desert fortress the Citadel. When the warrior Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) leads the despot's five wives in a daring escape, she forges an alliance with Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), a loner and former captive. Fortified in the massive, armored truck the War Rig, they try to outrun the ruthless warlord and his henchmen in a deadly high-speed chase through the Wasteland.

Dope - High School senior Malcolm (Shameik Moore) and his friends Jib (Tony Revolori) and Diggy (Kiersey Clemons) bond over '90s hip-hop culture, their studies and playing music in their own punk band.
