Ex Lives will make The Rock look like a pussy! Every Time I Die-Ex Lives review

For every ETID fan Ex Lives couldn't come out soon enough. As soon as we got wind way back last summer that a new album was on the horizon today seemed like an eternity. I have yet to listen to an Every Time I Die album that doesn't deliver the goods, and this album is no exception. The first track on the album, (under water bimbos from outer space) was their first release and taste of the album that the fans received. It jams like it belongs on the two previous albums from ETID " The Big Dirty" or "New Junk Astetic" , and I honestly thought that's how the rest of the album was going to be laid out. Little did I know, Every Time I Die had made a record that would pullout from all of their experiences and Ex Lives if you will. The second single released has been a surprise from the depths of The Damned Things influence with (Revival Mode), now don't be alarmed because its nothing short of greatness. Its a nice mixture and break that gives this album a more whole and round feeling. This album has a bit of everything for every type of Every Time I Die Fan. Whether you come from Hot Damn, Last Night In Town, or The Big Dirty this record is still for you. The great thing you can take from this album is how much fun it is. The fast parts in songs like "Touch Yourself" and "Holy Book of Dilemma" get your head bobbing and jamming like any old Every Time I Die song. "Seperate Hearts Are The Hole Of The Law!!!!"

Songs like "A Wild, Shameless Plain" show Every Time I Dies more mature sound, and how far they've come as musicians and song writers. It reminds me of the dirty southern rock and roll that ETID delivers on every record. Another touch of southern rock and roll comes the song and happens to be my favorite song on Ex Lives "Partying Is Such A Sweet Sorrow", it starts off with some radical dirty banjo playing then straight into that rock and and roll head bobb guitar riffs that makes me want to just drink whiskey and party till the sun comes up. There are three aspects to an Every Time I Die record that I look for. #1 How Hard does it jam?, #2 How great are Keith Buckleys lyrics?, and #3 Have they progressed in a rock and roll direction. Ex Lives hits on all cylinders and doesnt look back. It really does make Dwayne The Rock Johnson look like a pussy!!!!

I know this weekend while I help celebrate Grant Pollucks birthday I'm going to be shredding some whiskey cokes jamming Ex Lives, and you should too! Not to mention Every Time I Die rolls through Iowa on Sunday. I better start preparing now for the madness that is about to become my life this weekend with Ex Lives!
